Confidentiality Policy

Here are the main confidentiality rules that apply to the Web site of the Auditor General of Québec.

Use of cookies

The Web site of the Auditor General installs a cookie on your computer’s hard drive only if you use the "Increase the font size" function. Once this function has been activated, the cookie ensures that the chosen font size is used throughout your visit.

• Type of browser and operating system used to access the site;
• Date and time of your visit to our site;
• Pages visited;
• If you access our site through another site, the address of that site.

This exchange of information is necessary for the server to send you a file compatible with the computer equipment you are using. The Auditor General keeps some information, such as the number of visitors, the most frequently visited pages, the originating site, and the country of origin of the Web surfer, for statistical purposes.

Use of personal information

If you choose to send us personal information – by e-mail, our address is verificateur.general@vgq.qc.ca, we will only use the information required to reply to and follow up on your message. The Auditor General adopts the same confidentiality measures when dealing with electronic messages as he does for messages received by mail.
